FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “A tournament as innovative, inclusive, pioneering and truly global as the new 32-team FIFA Club World Cup deserves a trophy that represents all of these characteristics. It is truly a prestigious trophy with a timeless golden character that makes it an icon of the future, inspired by the past. » “The players of the (champion) team who lift this trophy will hold in their hands the (glory) of the entire world of club football, because those who are crowned with this trophy write the chapters of football history. Let’s take our clubs on a global scale and celebrate them on the way to the start of a new era of football when the one and only world champion of club football will be crowned at the FIFA Club World Cup™ on July 13, 2025 in New York, New Jersey.
Anthony Ledru, Chairman and CEO of Tiffany & Co, said: “Tiffany & Co. has a 160-year legacy, creating trophies for some of the most prestigious tournaments in history and raising the bar for craftsmanship and design. The FIFA Club World Cup™ Trophy is a new chapter in our long history of designing and creating some of the world’s most iconic sporting trophies. »
An icon for the future, inspired by the past
The FIFA Club World Cup™ Trophy features 24-karat gold plating and laser-etched designs on both sides, with inscriptions and images that perfectly capture the history of the beautiful game. Designs include a world map and the names of the 211 FIFA member associations, as well as the six continental associations, symbolizing the geographical and cultural diversity of football.
The central disc of the trophy is a collection of symbols closely associated with football, its rituals and traditions, including innovative stadium shapes, equipment and a world map. The icon features inscriptions in no less than 13 languages, including Braille, reflecting the spirit of the global game and values of inclusion, and ensuring that the legacy of the tournament reaches the widest possible audience around the world . There is enough space to laser engrave the winning clubs’ insignia onto the surface of the trophy for 24 editions, and the gleaming gold masterpiece can be transformed from a shield into a multi-faceted orbital structure . This iconic trophy is inspired by the famous Voyager gold plaque, sent into space in the 1970s as part of a mission by the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Its design is inspired by astronomy, elements of the periodic table and maps of the first expeditions. To celebrate the past and future of the beautiful game, the trophy is also adorned with cosmic symbols, representing the approximate positions of the planets during the founding of FIFA on Saturday, May 21, 1904 in Paris, France, and during the match opening of the tournament which will take place on June 15, 2025 in Miami, United States.
The trophy is inscribed with a message of inspiration for champions, which reads: “Those who lift this trophy are doing it: “Those who lift this trophy write the chapters of the history of the soccer ! You are witnesses to a historic moment which represents the pinnacle of club football. A moment accessible to a few, but celebrated by many.” These words reflect the value of the Champions Trophy as a symbol of greatness, both honoring legends of the past and inspiring clubs around the world. Every champion gets a piece of the action
The champion of each tournament will receive a replica FIFA Club World Cup™ trophy, which will include an engraved inscription commemorating their victory in the final. The official replica will replicate the dimensions of the original trophy in terms of construction, details and size, and will be accompanied by an official plaque adorned with the logo and name of the crowned club, as well as the date on which it was crowned champion .
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™ trophy will be revealed on Thursday, December 5, 2024, when the draw for the competition takes place in Miami, United States.
