Abdeljaouad Belhaj has been re-elected president of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation for a new term, despite criticism of the performance of Moroccan boxing at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Belhaj was elected unanimously, as he was the only candidate after presenting a single list, thus continuing his journey to this position which he has held since 2002.
The university was the subject of strong criticism following the failure of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where Moroccan participation was limited to only 3 female boxers, given the absence of the male element which did not could not qualify.
After 22 years at the helm of the university, Belhaj will retain his position for four more years, despite criticism and calls for change.
