The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the final list for the Ballon d’Or for the best African player of the year 2024.
The list saw the exclusion of Sufyan Rahimi, the star of the Emirati club Al Ain, who abandoned the competition, while “CAF” retained his compatriot Ashraf Hakimi, the full-back of the French club Paris Saint -Germain.
Many believe that CAF might be inclined to award the prize to Nigerian Ademola Lookman, the striker for Italian club Atalanta, which is why Rahimi was left out and Hakimi was kept on the final list, in preparation for the presentation of the award to the striker of the Nigerian national team.
