The Spanish police in Algeciras were able to arrest “Baron”, wanted by the Moroccan authorities for drug trafficking.
This arrest follows a months-long investigation carried out by the Al Khadra Island Drugs and Organized Crime Unit, in cooperation with the European network “Enfast”.
Moroccan authorities had issued an arrest warrant for the accused after he smuggled large quantities of the drug “MDMA”, known as “ecstasy”, into Morocco in September 2023.
Although he managed to escape for a long time, investigators were able to determine his whereabouts in Green Island and he was eventually arrested.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Central Instruction Court No. 4 of the Spanish National Court, where he risks a 10-year prison sentence in Morocco.
