Rafael Nadal “not sure about playing at Roland-Garros”, one month before the tournament

Rafael Nadal, who is currently trying for the last time in his career to compete at the highest level of world tennis, has declared that he will only play at Roland Garros, where he has been crowned fourteen times, if he is ” ready enough.”

“If it was Roland-Garros, I would not play tomorrow (Thursday),” added the Spanish legend with 22 Grand Slam titles on the eve of his first match in Madrid. “If I don’t play Roland-Garros, that doesn’t mean everything is over. There are the Olympic Games, there are other important tournaments for me,” he said. Nadal will face the young American Darwin Blanch, 16, on Thursday in the first round of the Masters 1000 in Madrid.

The Spaniard was eliminated last week in the second round of the Barcelona tournament by Australian Alex de Minaur.
