FIFA President Gianni Infantino has welcomed the historic agreement reached to host the 2030 World Cup, stressing that the agreement reflects the true spirit of football and its ability to unite the world.
In his remarks on the sidelines of the FIFA Congress, Infantino said: “I congratulate everyone on the files we have received. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the continental federations, the teams and the executives surrounding this project. We thank everyone for this historic agreement that we are presenting to the world.
The FIFA President added: “We all know that this achievement was possible thanks to mutual understanding and respect. Everyone took a step towards the other, made the necessary concessions and decided to sacrifice themselves for the common good. “These values are what remain at the heart of football and FIFA’s mission. »
Infantino concluded by saying: “Football is a universal language, and through this sport we can unite the world and transmit the message of peace and unity among people.”
