Yesterday, Tuesday, several national ports experienced a state of chaos and confusion after the technical breakdown that hit the single national network for the simplification of foreign trade procedures, known as (PORTNET).
The port of Casablanca, considered one of the largest national ports in terms of commercial and economic transactions, yesterday experienced a state of chaos and confusion, resulting from the influx of a large number of trucks loaded with modified containers for export, while they remained waiting for their turn to enter the port until the procedures were completed via the platform which… It has been out of service since yesterday afternoon.
The security and customs authorities of the said port hastened to contain the situation by authorizing the entry of trucks loaded with containers into the port and declaring them in the traditional way, as was the case previously before declaring them via the “Bornet », created in 2008.
A number of business leaders carrying out import and export activities in various commercial fields complain about the successive and unjustified breakdowns of the national single window intended to simplify foreign trade procedures, calling on the National Ports Agency to work further with its partners to improve and advance the platform in the context of the major economic transformations that Morocco is experiencing.
