Meknes: Commissioning of fourteen modern health care centers

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb launched, on Friday in the prefecture of Meknes, the services of fourteen new primary health care centers, as part of the profound overhaul of the health system. national health.
These new structures, spread across urban and rural areas, are part of the continuity of the establishment of a health infrastructure adapted to the implementation of the royal guidelines relating to the generalization of universal health coverage and of social protection, particularly with regard to the construction, rehabilitation and equipment of primary health care establishments.
Accompanied in particular by the governor of the prefecture of Meknes, Abdelghani Sabbar, the minister launched five urban health centers in the city of Meknes.
These are first-level structures, namely the Sidi Said Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases and the Beni Mhammed, Al Basatine, Sbata and Sidi Amer centers.
During the launching ceremony of these centers, which took place at the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases Sidi Said, explanations were presented, by videoconference, to the ministers by the heads of the different centers on the impact of this upgrade operation on their working conditions and patient care.
Concerning the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Respiratory Diseases Sidi Said, it benefited from an upgrade program for a total investment of 1,820 MDH in addition to equipment in bio-medical equipment of more than 1.33 MDH. This center, equipped with a large medical staff, should benefit a population of 951,090 inhabitants.
This operation also concerned five first-level rural health centers “Zoualt”, “Taghleft” and “Ait Aissa Addi”, “Bni Meraaz”, “Ouad Jdida” and “Sidi Slimane”, in addition to 4 rural dispensaries “Bouassal”. », “Ain Agoual”, “Bridia” and “Ouled Slim”.
The deployment of the services of these health establishments is part of the policy of rehabilitation and renovation of public health establishments, in accordance with the directives of King Mohammed VI, relating to the launch of a substantial reform of the national health system. with a view to promoting the implementation of the generalization of health coverage and social protection.
These health establishments, which are part of the new generation of primary health care establishments, will provide a varied range of health services and a range of treatments including general medical consultations and nursing care.
They will also monitor chronic diseases, notably tuberculosis, respiratory diseases, diabetes and high blood pressure, in addition to monitoring maternal and child health, school health, as well as health awareness and education services.
These health centers aim to strengthen the supply of health services in the Fez-Meknes region and to bring health services closer to the citizens targeted by these services.
In a statement to MAP, Mr. Ait Taleb indicated that this operation to upgrade these health centers constitutes a qualitative leap for the health sector in the Fez-Meknes region, adding that it intervenes in the framework of the implementation of the guidelines of HM King Mohammed VI who has constantly insisted on the need to bring care closer to citizens, hence the importance also of the establishment of mobile units to meet patients.
“Today, there is no difference between urban and rural areas after the opening up of remote areas in application of the Royal Instructions,” he said.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection, which has mobilized qualified human resources to ensure medical and curative services to the population, has equipped these health centers with modern equipment and high-quality biomedical devices.
