“Green Generation 2020-2030”: High Royal Guidelines

Launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in February 2020, “Generation Green 2020-2030” is inspired by the High Royal Guidelines contained in the Speech delivered by the Sovereign on October 12, 2018, as well as the Royal audience granted to the Minister of ‘Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests at the Royal Palace in Marrakech on October 19, 2018.

Excerpts from the Royal Speech of October 12, 2018

“The agricultural sector can be a more efficient provider of jobs and a more effective instrument for ensuring better living and settlement conditions in rural areas”

“We call for a consolidation of the achievements made in the agricultural field and the creation of new activities that generate jobs and income, particularly for young people in rural areas”

“Our goal is to promote the emergence of an agricultural middle class”

“We are directing the government to develop innovative measures to encourage farmers to become more involved in cooperatives and productive agricultural groups”

“We call for investors’ access to land to be strengthened and facilitated”

“Do justice to small farmers, particularly with regard to the marketing of their products”

“The mobilization of agricultural land belonging to ethnic communities for the realization of agricultural investment projects constitutes a strong lever for generally improving the socio-economic standard of living, and more particularly that of rights holders”
