Heba Press – Casablanca
The tender of the second continental Highway Project, which will link the capital Rabat and the city of Casablanca, has been announced. The call for tenders are expected to be announced in the coming days.
We expect the call for tenders to be limited to Moroccan companies, which have proven to be worthy of the implementation of major infrastructure projects, which will reflect on the support of the national economy and improve the role of local businesses in major development projects.
The project should be completed before 2030, as part of the preparations for Morocco to accommodate the 2030 World Cup in cooperation with Spain and Portugal. Where the highway will contribute to linking the Hassan II stadium to Casablanca to the vital areas of Benslimane.
The project will extend 58 km away and is an additional expansion of the current highway which links the two major cities of the kingdom.
The project has already been announced and presented at the International Football Association (FIFA), before the previous tender was suddenly canceled.
The continental road will improve Morocco’s infrastructure and facilitate traffic between major cities, as it will help meet the needs of FIFA to provide a modern and efficient transport network to accommodate the World Cup.
