Convinced that only a consensual political solution can put an end to this crisis, Morocco remains convinced that any security or military approach would only increase the situation and keep the prospect of a lasting reconciliation between the parties concerned, continued the Minister , stressing that in a short term, it is urgent to put an end to the suffering of civilian populations, resulting from this crisis, by facilitating humanitarian access in order to meet the most pressing needs of affected people.

Humanitarian aid must be transported without hindrances, guaranteeing the protection of populations, said Bourita, noting that the international community and regional actors must combine their efforts to lighten suffering and restore hope in this hard -proven region .

He also indicated that the Kingdom wishes to express its sincere congratulations and pay a vibrant tribute to the President of the Republic of Angola and champion of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa, João Lourenço.

“We welcome his role and tireless efforts to hire the parties concerned in order to bring them back to the negotiating table and avoid any form of climbing likely to compromise mediation efforts for peace and stability of the region,” said Reaffirmed Mr. Bourita.
