Monday, March 10, 2025, the IGF and the World Bank organize a face -to -face seminar, bringing together the senior officials of the two institutions, as well as a panel of international experts and Moroccan finance inspectors. The launch was chaired by Mr. Mohamed MANCHOUD, the Inspector General of Finance and Mr. Ahmadou Moustapha Ndiaye, the country’s Director of the World Bank for the Maghreb and Malta. It is a seminar organized over 5 days with a series of training, conferences and case studies on the most advanced audit practices.

This partnership, initiated within the framework of the IGF 2023-2026 strategic action plan, is part of a dynamic of deep transformation of the institution, which this year celebrates its 65ᵉ anniversary, more than six decades of existence at the service of good governance of public finances. The technical support of the World Bank is based on two major axes, designed to meet the current and future challenges of the internal public audit:

Updating IGF standards and practices by the most recent international standardsin particular ISSAI standards (International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions). This update allows you to update the guides and audit manuals of the IGF. In parallel, homologous institutions abroad are identified to promote the exchange of good practices and collaborative projects, thus strengthening the integration of international internal public audit standards. The integration of advanced technologies, in particular artificial intelligence (AI)to modernize audit processes and improve the effectiveness of missions. This axis aims to exploit the potential of AI to transform traditional practices and meet the growing requirements in terms of transparency and performance. In a co-construction approach between a team of finance and expert inspectors of the World Bank, innovative technological solutions are being developed to strengthen the efficiency and precision of audit missions.

The IGF remains the external reference auditor in Morocco for projects funded by international donors. This mark of confidence, which testifies to the professionalism and independence of the institution, dates back to 1985, the year when the IGF audited the first project funded by a funder, in this case the World Bank.

It should also be recalled, also, exceptional and exemplary relations between the World Bank and Morocco, the first country in the world where the results instrument for results (PPR) have been experimenting, a major innovation in the field of project financing. IGF listeners played a key role in verifying the first results indicators, thus confirming the ability of the General Inspectorate of Finance to meet the most rigorous requirements, in compliance with the principles of independence and neutrality that have frames its missions since 1960.
