Morocco improved its score on the “Global Soft Power Index-2024”, placing itself 50th among the most influential countries in the world. The Kingdom has gained five places compared to the 2023 edition of this international ranking, published by the British firm “Brand Finance” and which concerns the 193 member states of the United Nations.

This year again, Morocco maintains its place at the top of the Maghreb countries and is on the podium of the most influential countries in Africa.

In its analysis of data from Morocco, Brand Finance highlights the “remarkable” evolution of its “sustainable future” index, which recorded a jump of ten places. Morocco’s performance was also boosted, according to the British firm, by its result in the “media and communication” and “science and education” categories, which saw an increase of eight and four places respectively.

Brand Finance evolves soft power based on performance indicators, including business and commerce, governance, international relations, cultural heritage, media and communication, education and science, as well as people and values. Internationally, the United States remained at the top of the ranking, ahead of the United Kingdom and China. Japan and Germany complete the world Top 5. This ranking is carried out on the basis of field surveys as well as interviews conducted by experts from the international firm, which publishes this ranking based on surveys with a sample composed of more than 100,000 respondents in more than 100 markets around the world.
