El Jadida.. Suicide of a police officer with his service weapon

The headquarters of the territorial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie in Bir Jdid, reporting to the El Jadida gendarmerie, has seen since this morning, Wednesday, a mobilization of the gendarmerie authorities, intelligence services and local authorities, after a gendarme, occupying the position of deputy head of the Bir Jdid gendarmerie center, killed himself by shooting himself with his service weapon in his official accommodation.

Responders from the general management of the Royal Gendarmerie in Rabat and the regional command of El Jadida, who rushed to the scene of the tragedy, are actively carrying out investigations and investigations on the ground to determine the causes, circumstances and modalities of the suicide of this gendarmerie officer. This unprecedented drama in the center of Bir Jdid has not yet revealed its results. It is not excluded that work pressure is among the reasons for this act, especially given the limited number of gendarmes operating within the territorial brigade of Bir Jdid, compared to police officers in the same city.

Furthermore, a senior official of the gendarmerie was seen this Wednesday afternoon in the office of the king’s prosecutor near the court of first instance of El Jadida, which could be closely linked to the suicide of the gendarmerie agent .
