2026 Amputee Football World Cup: The Atlas Lions qualified, the Fennecs too


During the last World Cup organized from September 30 to October 9, 2022 in Istanbul, the National Team had a remarkable performance, finishing in fifth place.

Today again, the National Amputee Football Team validated its ticket for the next World Cup of the discipline, scheduled for 2026, by qualifying for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) , which runs until May 27 in Cairo.

The Atlas Lions reached the final four of the CAN qualifier after their victory against the host country, Egypt, with a score of 4-2 after extra time (regular time: 2-2).

For a place in the final, the national team will face Nigeria who got the better of Liberia (2-1).

For its part and after its victory in the quarter-final (2-1) against the 2022 world vice-champion, Angola, Algeria qualified directly for the Amputee World Cup.
