Having the common objective of boosting Moroccan trade, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), the BCP group and its payment institution, Maroc Processing Transactions (M2T), have signed a partnership agreement in favor of digitalization of the sector and financial inclusion of merchants.

This tripartite partnership was formalized during the MRTB (Moroccan Retail Tech Builders) event “100 Retail Tech startups: new era for Moroccan commerce”, by Mr. Taoufiq MOUCHARAF, Secretary General of the MIC, Mr. Jalil SEBTI, Director General of the Commercial Bank of the BCP group, and Mr. Omar EL MGHARI IDRISSI, General Director of M2T.

Through this collaboration, the three partners undertake to implement a set of strategic actions to support MRTB startups, promote the financial inclusion of merchants, diversify their sources of income, facilitate their integration into the digital economy and strengthen their competitiveness.

Emphasis will be placed on the deployment of innovative solutions and the exploitation of advanced M2T technologies, in partnership with Moroccan startups, to ensure effective digital transformation of SMEs in the sector; supported by banking and para-banking solutions from the parent company, the BCP group.

Note that M2T has begun supporting a few startups in the commerce sector, with operational projects and others currently being launched on the market.
