The Spanish government has approved new procedures for matching driving licenses for trucks with Morocco, in accordance with the bilateral agreement between the two countries which provides for the mutual recognition of driving licenses for trucks and buses.
In this regard, Moroccan truck and bus drivers can now travel on Spanish roads without needing to change their driving license or undergo theoretical and practical compliance exams.
Alongside this decision, truck owners’ associations in Spain announced their need for thousands of Moroccan truck drivers, justifying Spain’s urgent need for Moroccan drivers due to the shortage suffered by this sector in Spain, estimated at around 20,000 professional drivers, which has encouraged many Spanish companies to call on drivers from other countries such as Switzerland, Monaco, Andorra and soon Morocco.
