The United Nations Development Programme released yesterday in New York the Global Human Development Report 2024/2023, which serves as a reference for analyzing indicators and challenges of development worldwide.

The report acknowledged Morocco’s efforts in the realm of human development, particularly in education, health, and economic development, ensuring social integration and equal opportunities for all citizens.

In this context, our country advanced in the global ranking of the Human Development Index by three places, moving from 123rd to 120th place worldwide, marking a significant achievement in ranking for our country in the new global ranking of the Human Development Index.

Thus, our country has achieved, for the first time in over a decade, such progress by improving its position by three places in one go.

The global human development report also highlighted our country’s ongoing efforts to address gender disparities, while emphasizing the need to continue facilitating women’s access to education, healthcare, and economic integration opportunities.

Overall, the global human development report noted Morocco’s tangible achievements towards sustainable development and social integration, emphasizing the Kingdom’s continued efforts in areas such as access to education, healthcare, economic integration, and combating climate change.

On this occasion, the National Observatory for Human Development underscores that this achievement constitutes international recognition of Morocco’s efforts to implement various social programs of the state in line with the royal vision, particularly through the implementation of comprehensive reforms in healthcare and education, expanding access to healthcare, launching the direct social support program, direct housing support, and introducing a birth grant, demonstrating full commitment to the announced royal agenda.

On the other hand, the National Observatory for Human Development positively notes the government’s performance methodology in activating royal directives to make the family the reference unit for all social reforms and programs, aiming to protect society from the risks of economic and social vulnerability.
