Ancelotti: “Brahim Diaz will be an asset for a big team like Morocco”

The coach of Real Madrid, the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, affirmed on Friday that Brahim Diaz, summoned for the first time by the national coach, Walid Regragui, will be “an asset for a great team” like Morocco.

”Morocco is a great team led by a good coach that I know,” Ancelotti underlined during a press conference ahead of the match which will pit, on Saturday, the Merengue, leaders of the Spanish championship, against Osasuna, for the 29th day of La Liga.

“For us, Brahim Dias is an important player and he can be for any team. He chose where we wanted him and he chose well,” said the Italian coach.

”Morocco had a fantastic World Cup and Brahim will bring added value to this great team,” insisted Ancelotti.

Brahim Diaz said he was “proud and happy” to wear the jersey of the Moroccan national team, ahead of the two friendly matches that the Atlas Lions will play at the end of March against Angola and Mauritania.

”When the list of players called up by Morocco came out on Wednesday with my name, I felt proud and happy. Who wouldn’t like to play in a national team like that of Morocco?”, he declared, Thursday evening, in an interview with radio ”Cadena Ser”.

”I think that the love and the project that they showed me in Morocco are very important,” said the 24-year-old, adding that he was ”guided by the heart”.
