The King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Kenitra announced that the investigating judge ordered the detention of seven people and the placement of an eighth person under judicial supervision as part of the investigation, following to the death of several people after consuming a substance harmful to health.

A press release from the King’s Attorney General at the same court specifies that in relation to the information disseminated on certain sites and social networks concerning the death of several people after consuming a substance harmful to health, the prosecution had ordered the judicial police competent authority under the Royal Gendarmerie to open an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. This investigation led to the presentation of eight people before the prosecution.

The results of the investigation, according to the statement, showed that the victims consumed a toxic alcoholic substance, namely “methanol”, which led to the death of some of them, while others were treated and released from hospital, and still others are still being treated.

The investigation also revealed, according to the same source, that some suspects in this case obtained this alcoholic substance from stores producing concentrated alcohol and distributed it to certain dealers of this intoxicating substance, who sold it to several people attending a party. These people experienced various pains after consuming the substance, which led to the death of some of them.

Based on this information, the press release emphasizes that the public prosecutor’s office has requested an investigation against the persons presented for their alleged involvement in the crime of knowingly supplying substances harmful to health leading to deaths and physical disabilities. . The investigating judge, after initially questioning them, ordered the detention of seven of them and the placement of the eighth under judicial supervision as part of the investigation.
