In an intimate and vibrant atmosphere, in the Kenfaoui room of the Mohammed V National Theater in Rabat, alongside the major operas, a choral concert was organized last week by the UNESCO club – Issil for art and interculturality and the cultural representation of the Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire in Morocco.
According to the director of the UNESCO club – Issil for art and interculturality, Ms. Maria Verdu: “This concert is the result of a series of international vocal techniques and initiation to choral singing initiated in May of last year, 2024. The main object of this joint initiative is the promotion of cultural exchange through music and for that we wanted to dedicate our first concert to cultural diversity. It should also be emphasized that cultural diversity promotes open -mindedness, tolerance and intercultural dialogue, enormous aspects to contribute to the construction of more peaceful societies ”.
This series of workshops was supervised by the Spanish soprano Dolores Delgado, which has a vast international experience. She studied in Spain, being the pupil of the famous tenor Alfredo Kraus. She was a teacher in several professional music conservatories in Spain. Also, through the Erasmus+ program and other exchange initiatives, she participated in artistic projects in Ecuador, Kosovo, Italy and Morocco.
Following the interest aroused by this activity, several editions of the workshop have been organized since its launch. As a result, around fifteen people of all ages and several nationalities have gone on stage to offer us a bright and varied concert which highlighted the richness of choral music according to different traditions and musical cultures around the world.
