What is World Hunger Day?

Established by the FAO (the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), World Hunger Day is celebrated on June 15 each year.

The fight against hunger is part of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in 2015 by the 193 member countries of the UN.

In many regions of the world, conflicts, multiple crises, lack of adequate infrastructure and poverty deprive millions of families of access to basic food.

Wherever the right to food is threatened, UNICEF provides nutrition services to the most vulnerable children.
