What is Aid El Adha?

HIBAPRESS-RABAT
Eid El Kébir, or Eid Al Adha, is a holiday celebrated each year by Muslims around the world. It commemorates, according to Muslim tradition, the sacrifice that ALLAH asked of Abraham to test his faith. This celebration, bringing families together, is an important moment of sharing and conviviality, which is in accordance with the freedom of worship guaranteed by our Constitution.
It results in the slaughter of several thousand sheep, over a period of one to three days. The organization of this festival therefore constitutes a real logistical challenge for all stakeholders: Muslim communities, livestock and slaughter professionals, local authorities, the State.
To accompany this traditional Muslim festival, a promotional awareness campaign on Radio and TV carried out by the Ministries of Agriculture and the Interior explains the practice relating to its organization.
