In a surprising development, an investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Rabat ordered, last Friday, the closing of the borders to the Deputy Prosecutor General of the King at the Court of Appeal in Fes. He has also been placed under judicial supervision twice a week. This follows an investigation into serious accusations against him.
The judicial decision came after a shocking complaint filed by a tourism investor and a Member of Parliament from the PAM party in Moulay Yaacoub province. The complaint accuses the judicial official of abuse of power, bribery, and extortion through the fabrication of false files and malicious complaints against him. Sources confirmed that these measures are precautionary, pending further investigation with the Deputy Prosecutor General starting October 1st. This makes the case likely to see further surprises and developments that could shake public opinion.
