HIBAPRESS – Tiznit
The competent Public Prosecution in the city of Tiznit ordered the detention of 15 individuals under custody, on suspicion of their involvement in riots, acts of violence, and vandalism that targeted a number of public and private properties, on the sidelines of the protest called for by the "Generation Z" group last Tuesday.
The city witnessed a tense night that extended past midnight, where clashes broke out, resulting in injuries to a number of members of the public forces and the local authorities during their intervention to contain the situation. A service car belonging to the National Security was also set on fire, along with the burning of waste containers, in addition to the vandalism of traffic signs, bank windows, and vehicles belonging to citizens. The acts of sabotage did not stop there, as they also included cutting off the electricity supply to some neighborhoods and uprooting numerous signage, which increased the state of chaos that swept the region. The competent authorities continue their investigations to find out the background of these events and identify all those involved, pending the presentation of the detainees to the judiciary.
