HIBAPRESS
The Algerian regime continues to show its fear of any popular movement, as it launched a wide campaign of doubt on social media regarding calls for demonstrations next Friday, within the framework of what has become known as the "Generation Z" protests, which found an echo within Algeria, which is drowning in a suffocating social crisis.
As usual, the Algerian News Agency rushed to demonize these calls, describing them as "insidious conspiracies," warning Algerians from engaging in them. The official report issued on Tuesday did not just stop at warning, but went as far as to betray the initiative announced by a group of Algerian youth called "Z Generation 213," accusing them of not being a spontaneous movement but rather "an attempt to undermine stability," and considering that its danger lies in its reliance on modern communication tools that attract youth through cyberspace. Since the abortion of the popular movement at the end of 2020, the military regime imposed a complete closure on the Algerian street, and oppressively banned any gatherings of a political or demand-based nature, even solidarity stands with the Palestinian cause were not spared from the ban, in a scene that reveals the extent of fear of any opposing collective voice. On August 8th, opponents residing abroad launched new calls for demonstrations, especially in the capital, and the response of the military authority was unprecedented security mobilization, as it closed the entrances to the capital and security devices spread intensively, in preparation for suppressing and dragging any Algerian who dares to raise his voice against the failed policies of the ruling military regime.
