The city of Salé witnessed, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, serious riots after a number of people, including juveniles and those with criminal records, committed acts of vandalism and looting that affected public and private property.
A number of videos and photos documented the actions of juveniles and those with criminal records setting fire to vehicles belonging to the security forces, as well as targeting bank branches and shops, which were vandalized, their contents looted, and their goods stolen.
Violent attacks on elements of the public forces were also recorded, through stone-throwing, in scenes described as shocking.
These unfortunate events come after peaceful demonstrations led by a number of young people to demand reforms in the education and health sectors and to combat corruption, before their course was diverted to create chaos and terrorize citizens.
