HIBAPRESS – A. Muhyawi
In developments within the administrative landscape of the Kingdom, Khalid Zerouali was appointed today, Friday, October 3rd, as Acting Governor of the Fes-Meknes region, succeeding Mouad Jamai, who was relieved of his duties.
Zerouali is considered a prominent figure within the Ministry of Interior, having previously held the position of Director of Migration and Border Control. He has accumulated extensive experience in managing major security and administrative files. This appointment comes in the context of restructuring territorial responsibilities following recent events in some cities, and within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's commitment to ensuring the continuity of the regional administrative services and strengthening territorial governance. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Interior had previously assigned the Governor of Meknes, Abdelghani Essbar, to take on the role of acting governor, succeeding Mouad Jamai, before he was later appointed to the office of the Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit. During his temporary supervision of the region, Abdelghani Essbar demonstrated tremendous efforts in rehabilitating the infrastructure of the city of Fes, where he worked to monitor various development projects in coordination with Hicham El-Kartassi and the Regional Director of Investment, which contributed to restoring the dynamism of the city and enhancing its attractiveness. Furthermore, Khalid Zerouali is expected to continue leading the regional services on an acting basis until a new governor is officially appointed.
