The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Appeal in Kenitra announced the follow-up of the legal status of those arrested in connection with the events that disrupted security and public order in the Sidi Taibi area, belonging to the Kenitra province, on the night of Wednesday, October 1, 2025, which were accompanied by acts of violence, theft, vandalism of public and private property, and arson.
According to a statement from the Public Prosecutor's Office, 17 detainees were presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office today, Saturday, October 4, 2025. They were distributed between eight adults who were under custodial measures and nine juveniles held at the judicial center of the Royal Gendarmerie in Kenitra.
The statement indicated that the Public Prosecutor's Office requested an investigation into four of the arrested adults for suspicion of committing legally criminalized acts, and it was also decided to open an investigation into seven juveniles according to the criminal acts attributed to them.
In contrast, six of the detainees were referred to the King's Attorney at the Court of First Instance in Kenitra to decide what is within his jurisdiction, distributed between four adults and two juveniles.
Based on the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, it was decided to remand all the accused in pre-trial detention pending the completion of the detailed investigation procedures, while the concerned authorities continue their investigations to arrest the rest of those involved in these events and present them before justice.
These measures come within the framework of the efforts of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the security forces to ensure security and public order and to hold accountable anyone who is proven to be involved in acts of violence or vandalism.
