The White House announced on Wednesday evening that US President Donald Trump will undergo a routine annual medical examination next Friday at Walter Reed Military Hospital near Washington, D.C.
White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in an official statement that Trump, 79 years old, "will visit Walter Reed Medical Center on Friday morning to hold a pre-planned meeting and give a speech to the soldiers, and during the visit he will undergo his routine annual medical examination." This examination comes after the last one the President underwent last April, which was also described as an annual examination, and a report issued by the White House physician, Sean Barbabella, confirmed that Trump "is in excellent health." In another context, Trump said in statements to reporters earlier the same day that he does not rule out a visit to the Gaza Strip, indicating the possibility of heading to the Middle East during the weekend. The US President added: "We are very close to reaching an agreement in the Middle East," and when asked what remains to complete the "Gaza agreement," he replied: "Either we finish it or sign it." Trump also indicated that he might visit Egypt "most likely" as part of his anticipated tour of the region.
