Informed sources reported that units belonging to the Royal Navy were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a significant amount of hashish, after stopping a recreational boat that was sailing suspiciously inside Marina Smir in the city of M'diq.
The same sources clarified that the search operation carried out by naval elements resulted in the seizure of 129 kilograms of hashish that were carefully hidden inside the boat. The people who were on board were arrested and handed over to the competent security services in order to deepen the investigation under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, in order to determine the extent of this network and the parties behind it. This operation comes within the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by various Moroccan security and military services to combat international drug trafficking networks and to enhance control over the northern coasts of the Kingdom.
