HIBAPRESS – Shafiq Anouri
Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris has renewed his accusations against the Algerian regime for seizing his company.
This came during his appearance as a guest on the "Arab Cast" podcast on YouTube, where he said that his accusations against the Algerian government are supported by documents.
He added: "I have documents addressed by the then Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, titled: How to seize Sawiris's company."
He continued: "He told him that we must cut off the international airlines company, then prevent it from advertising on the radio, and prevent its devices and equipment from crossing customs."
He explained that the documents included, after listing these measures, that the latter "will affect the company's market share and lower its levels to a low price, and then we buy it," which is what actually happened.
Sawiris confirmed that "the deal was not fair at all, because they put me in a corner that made me forced to sell," adding that he then sold his stake in the Russian company for "a quarter of the price."
