HIBAPRESS – Shafiq Annouri
The Algerian media figure Walid Kabir cast doubt on the narrative of the arrest of General Abdelkader Haddad, nicknamed "Nasser Al-Jinn" in Algeria, asserting that it is impossible to ascertain the truth of the matter, given the military regime's habit of fueling rumors.
Kabir said in a statement to "HIBAPRESS" that "it is impossible to confirm the accuracy of the data published by recent reports, or circulated by a number of Algerian activists abroad, regarding the arrest of General Nasser Al-Jinn inside the country." The absence of official statements delays the truth. Kabir added that it is impossible to confirm this news "in the absence of any official statement, whether from the military judiciary or any sovereign authority in the country, to talk about the matter officially and cut off the path to rumors." He continued that the difficulty in verifying the matter is also due to "conflicting news, and also because the regime is the one that fuels rumors for a specific purpose," considering that this confirms "the confusion or infighting or conflicts within the ruling elite in Algeria." The Algerian regime fuels rumors. The Algerian media figure continued that in the absence of any "official statement or video or report or the official public television publishing a video about him, all this talk remains mere interpretations," pointing out in this context that "the Algerian regime confirms through its lack of frankness with the people and its lack of transparency that there are things it does not want to appear." Kabir considered that the military regime in Algeria felt "great annoyance from the conflicting news about the escape of the jinn by speedboat across the sea," pointing out that the Algerian regime "deliberately feeds rumors, and it does not respect the Algerian people because if it respected them, it would have been frank with them about this general who was in charge of managing one of the most important security institutions in the country."
