As part of its development plan and its continuous efforts to connect Morocco with promising markets, Royal Air Maroc has launched a new direct air route between Casablanca and Saint Petersburg, Russia.
According to a statement from the company, a copy of which HIBAPRESS received, this air route, which will be operated starting in January 2026, will connect the two cities in less than six hours. It also meets the increasing demand for travel between Morocco and Russia, whether for professional, academic or tourist purposes. The opening of this new air route to Saint Petersburg marks an important and strategic stage for Royal Air Maroc. It came to enhance our presence in Russia and also highlights our commitment and constant keenness to connect Morocco and the African continent with the major global economic and cultural poles. This new air route also comes to meet the increasing demands of travelers in terms of connectivity, as well as proposing a more quality travel experience on board our lines, in line with our permanent commitment to continue improving the customer experience by offering high-quality services along the route," confirms Mr. Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc. Starting January 20, 2026, Royal Air Maroc will begin scheduling three flights a week to Saint Petersburg. These flights will depart from Casablanca on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11:10 pm (local time), landing in Saint Petersburg the following day at 6:55 am (local time). Regarding the return flight, it will depart from Saint Petersburg on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8:05 am (local time), arriving in Casablanca on the same day at 11:45 am (local time). The adoption of this new air route comes to enhance the current offering of Royal Air Maroc and its presence in Russia, which currently includes a daily flight connecting Casablanca to Moscow. It testifies to the vitality and strength of the economic, cultural and tourism relations that bind the Kingdom of Morocco to the state of Russia. Morocco attracts an increasing number of Russian visitors annually, who are attracted to its temperate climate, rich heritage and distinguished reputation for hospitality. Saint Petersburg, the cultural gem listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Russia. Thanks to its world-class museums such as the Hermitage Museum, its picturesque canals, and its unique architecture, the city offers visitors a unique and exceptional travel experience for travelers. Tickets for flights will be available for sale starting Thursday, October 23, on the Royal Air Maroc website www.royalairmaroc.ma, and through the company's call centers, commercial agencies and travel agency network.
