The security services in the city of Fez were able, on Tuesday evening, to arrest a person named "Y.M", who is suspected of being involved in a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a young student, near the Sofia Hotel on Hassan II Street in the city center.
The arrest came after intensive investigations launched by the competent authorities, following a painful hit-and-run accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 20th, at around 2:30 am, on the Sefrou road near the "Titanic" cafe, during the celebratory atmosphere that followed the national youth team's victory in the World Cup. According to informed sources, the incident resulted in serious injuries to the student "A.Kh", who breathed his last inside the Hassan II University Hospital Complex in Fez, on the same day, while the driver fled the scene immediately after the accident. The suspect has been placed under custody by order of the competent Public Prosecutor's Office, pending the completion of the judicial investigation to uncover all the circumstances of this tragic incident and the accompanying conditions.
