The "Tamwilcom" Foundation hosts the annual summit of the Montreal Group, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Rabat. This is an international network comprising thirteen public development banking institutions from America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
According to a statement from the foundation, a copy of which was received by HIBAPRESS, this event, which is organized for the first time on the African continent, is a unique platform for exchanging experiences and ideas about the role of public financial institutions in financing and supporting very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
This 2025 edition was held under the slogan "Resilience," during which ways to enable public development banks to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of enterprises in light of economic, geopolitical, and technological challenges on a global scale were reviewed.
The opening session was distinguished by the interventions of Isabelle Bebeir and Abdul Aziz Al Zaid, the co-presidents of the Montreal Group, along with Said Jabrani, the General Manager of the "Tamwilcom" Foundation, the host of the summit.
In his speech on this occasion, Jabrani affirmed: "It is a great honor for the "Tamwilcom" Foundation and for Morocco that we are hosting the first session of the Montreal summit on African soil. This event embodies our will to make cooperation and the exchange of experiences the core of our work. As a public institution concerned with financing enterprises, we fully share the ambitions of the Montreal Group, which are reflected in encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship, supporting the growth of very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and strengthening the resilience of our economy in the face of global challenges."
The program of this summit included a series of seminars, presentations, and interactive workshops, which shed light on the diversification of markets and the essential role of public development banks in the creation and growth of enterprises.
The Moroccan experience was also highlighted through a dedicated seminar that provided an opportunity for participants to discover the economic dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes the Kingdom. This seminar featured presentations from the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development and the "Tamwilcom" Foundation, and the success story of the Moroccan enterprise "Lamacom".
It is worth noting that this event included officials from the member institutions of the Montreal Group network, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Bank Al-Maghrib, in addition to prominent financiers and international financial institutions.
