The activities of the twenty-first session of the International Festival of Fine Arts "Footprints" began yesterday, Saturday, in the city of Sattat, under the slogan "Fifty Years, Fifty Artists," with the participation of fifty female and male artists in the fields of fine arts and music.
This international art forum, organized until December 23, by the Footprints Association for Fine Arts, with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, is distinguished by the display of more than one hundred paintings and artworks. The opening ceremony of this session witnessed a significant presence of a number of Moroccan artists from various artistic and creative fields, and it included the honoring of distinguished artistic figures, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the art scene. On this occasion, the visual artist and president of the Footprints Association for Fine Arts, Rabia Al-Shahid, confirmed in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency that this session represents the result of a full year of continuous work and work, highlighting that it takes on an exceptional character as it coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the Green March, with all its deep national symbolism. Ms. Al-Shahid explained that this session brings together multiple artistic and cultural expressions, including fine art, sculpture, and music, indicating that the festival works on a group of artistic trends and styles that reflect the cultural identity of the city of Sattat, while opening up to wider artistic experiences at the national and international levels. For his part, the artist Hassan El Fad expressed his happiness at participating in this forum, considering it an opportunity to learn about the level of development of plastic art experiences, given the diversity of artworks and the aesthetic worlds it embraces. He explained that the exhibition represents an opportunity for him to restore his relationship with plastic expression, and it also provides an opportunity to meet artists and friends, indicating that each artwork on display imposes a special reading on the visitor; there are works that address the conscience and urge expression, and others that impose silence and contemplation. For her part, the visual artist Fatna Chanaan said that she is participating in this session with two paintings, explaining that her artworks are often inspired by the Moroccan cultural heritage, through working on symbols and using Amazigh jewelry and ornaments. She highlighted that these symbols are not just decorations, but rather carry deep meanings that reflect Moroccan history, culture, and the African dimension, stressing that the exhibition constitutes a space for exchanging experiences and cultural experiences between artists from different countries. For his part, the visual artist Zingas Fosta, from Central Africa, expressed his happiness at participating in this forum, which brings together artists from different backgrounds and horizons, indicating that this diversity enables artists to discover new methods and share experiences. The program of this session includes collective exhibitions, creative workshops for young people, as well as intellectual seminars and "master classes," in addition to musical performances, which aim to enhance cultural dialogue and bring visual arts closer to the public.
