HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
This morning, the city of Al Hoceima witnessed an unfortunate incident in front of the entrance to Moulay Rachid School, where a student was viciously attacked by a stray dog, causing him injuries to his leg, which sparked panic and confusion among the students and educational staff.
The incident brought back to the forefront the problem of stray dogs that have spread noticeably in various neighborhoods of the city, especially near educational institutions, in light of the clear laxity of the authorities responsible for managing this vital file that threatens the safety of citizens, especially children. According to eyewitnesses, the student was about to enter the school when the dog pounced on him in front of his classmates, before some citizens intervened to remove it, and the victim was then transferred to the regional hospital to receive the necessary treatment. Residents expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the recurrence of such incidents, demanding that the local authorities and municipal services "take urgent action" to put an end to the spread of stray dogs, which have become a daily threat to the safety of students and passersby, in the absence of any clear plan to curb the phenomenon. It is worth mentioning that the city of Al Hoceima has witnessed a worrying increase in the number of stray dogs in recent weeks, especially in residential neighborhoods and the vicinity of educational institutions, without recording any tangible intervention from the competent authorities, which raises questions about the effectiveness of programs to combat stray dogs and protect the safety of citizens.
