HIBAPRESS – Muhammad Zariouh
The organizing administration of the Nador International Theater Festival held an extensive press conference on Tuesday evening, dedicated to shedding light on the various organizational and logistical aspects surrounding the event. This media gathering was an opportune chance to introduce the main outlines of the second edition's program, as well as to reveal the most prominent constraints and challenges facing the organizing committee in order to make this prominent cultural event a success.
During the meeting, the organizers reviewed the most important lessons learned from the first edition, emphasizing that the festival encountered several significant difficulties in its early stages. The speakers explained that the lack of sufficient financial support was the biggest obstacle that affected the launch, which required a critical reading and different future planning to overcome the repercussions of that founding stage. The committee indicated that this financial constraint still casts a shadow over the current second edition, in light of its reliance on modest and limited contributions from some supporters. The administration added that the number of supporters remains very small and does not at all correspond to the size of the event, nor does it meet the expectations of the local residents and those interested in cultural and artistic affairs in the region. In a related context, the organizing association explained that it had chosen to raise the bar of challenge high by undertaking a new and unprecedented experience in its cultural path. This step was represented in transforming the festival from a simple national event to an open international forum, in a bold move that reflects the ambition of the organizing parties to upgrade the theatrical act in the Nador region and achieve a radiance that transcends the geographical borders of the Kingdom. The interveners in the symposium highlighted that the supervising committee did not stand idly by in the face of these material obstacles, but rather hastened to knock on the doors of a number of elected institutions and economic actors in the region. These intensive movements come in a serious attempt to secure the minimum organizational conditions that befit an event that carries an international character and carries within it great hopes for revitalizing the cultural movement in the region. On the other hand, the festival administration stressed that this edition goes beyond simply presenting routine, passing performances, but rather aims primarily to restore the status of the theater in the region and to evoke its bright past. The festival seeks to create an integrated artistic space that is open to global experiences, which contributes to attracting the younger generations and strengthening their relationship with the father of arts, as well as consolidating the culture of purposeful viewing. The press conference witnessed a distinguished presence of representatives of various regional and national media outlets, who enriched the discussion with their proposals and intelligent questions about the prospects for developing the festival in the future. In conclusion, the organizers extended an open invitation to all civil and artistic events to engage positively and support this new cultural birth, which ensures its continuity and enhances the positioning of the city of Nador in the international creative scene.
