HIBAPRESS – Meknes

The government council, during its meeting on October 30, 2025, approved decree number 2.25.475 concerning the establishment of the industrial acceleration zone in Meknes, which was presented by the Minister of Industry and Trade.

This decree aims to develop an advanced industrial zone within the Acropolis hub in Meknes, located in the Sidi Slimane Moul El Kifane commune, to be a platform for attracting investment, enhancing added value, and creating qualified job opportunities. The Acropolis of Meknes currently extends over a total area of 423 hectares, after an expansion of 276 hectares, including 116 hectares for the expansion of the Agropolis, 100 hectares allocated for the industrial acceleration zone, 30 hectares for the automotive industry, in addition to 30 hectares for the logistics zone, and 30 hectares for the wholesale market for fruits and vegetables in Meknes. This expansion comes within the regional industrial plan prepared by the Regional Investment Center of Fez-Meknes in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, the prefecture of the region, and the public companies sector, in response to the growing demand for industrial real estate from national and international investors. The first phase of the industrial acceleration zone will be prepared on an area of 30 hectares allocated to the automotive industry, to attract new investors and support the expansion of existing companies, where major companies such as YAZAKI, LEAR CORPORATION, and APTIV will benefit from this project. The plan also includes the development of other industrial zones in the region, including Ras El Maa and Ain Chekchak, and the preparation of new zones in Ain Bida, Youssoufia, and Ain Aicha, in addition to six industrial zones with a total of 132 hectares in the provinces of Moulay Yacoub, Taza, Taounate, El Hajeb, Boulemane, and Azrou, to enhance the position of the Fez-Meknes region as a major industrial hub and support regional value chains and competitiveness.
