Ministerial decisions aimed at addressing a number of imbalances that have affected faculties belonging to Ibn Zohr University over the past two years continue, following a series of scandals that shook academic public opinion, from the issue of selling master's degrees to files related to mass failure in institutions affiliated with the university.
In the latest developments, "HIBAPRESS" learned from informed sources that the court has issued a ruling obliging the coordinator of the sports master's program at the Faculty of Law in Ait Melloul to hand over the students' examination papers for one of the units to the college administration, under penalty of a threatening fine of ten thousand dirhams for each day of delay, starting from October 14, 2025, with the execution of the ruling urgently and charging the person concerned with the legal expenses. The case, which sparked widespread controversy in the university community, goes back to the announcement of results that were considered "catastrophic" and unprecedented in the digital strategy and innovation management unit in sports, where no student was able to obtain the required average. This situation prompted the administration to organize a make-up exam for more than 120 students after they all received a zero score, which sparked widespread protests and demands for an official investigation. Based on this, invitations were sent to the Ministry of Higher Education to send a central inspection committee in order to examine the details of what was considered "pedagogical and administrative imbalances" affecting the integrity of the educational process within the college. These developments come in the context of a series of reform measures launched by the ministry to contain the repercussions of a number of files that have affected the university's reputation, and to ensure greater transparency in the management of academic affairs and examinations.
