The Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports has called for ensuring the safe stay of female and male students within institutions during the midday period and environmental empty hours. The ministry considers these times as a top priority to achieve a healthy learning environment, enhance the quality of learning, and support the development of female and male students.
The ministry, which oversees the sector, has asked its central, regional, and provincial officials to coordinate with the heads of local authorities to provide logistical support and the necessary resources to achieve the desired results, while involving parents' associations and other relevant associations in framing and implementing this process, ensuring the involvement and support of families. The ministry stated that this step comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of central departments, regional academies for education and training, and regional directorates to ensure the continuity of schooling, combat waste and school dropout, and enhance safety and prevention conditions within educational institutions, and out of a concern to provide a safe and stimulating school environment for all female and male students. The ministry stressed the need to take the necessary measures to prevent female and male students from staying outside the walls of educational institutions during the midday period (between twelve noon and two in the afternoon) as well as during the interstitial empty hours, especially for female and male students whose social or geographical circumstances do not allow them to return to their homes due to the distance or the lack of transportation. The ministry added that some female and male students are forced to spend these periods outside the institution, which may expose them to many risks, and thus may negatively affect their academic achievement and their discipline, and increase the likelihood of them being exposed to accidents or engaging in inappropriate activities.
