HIBAPRESS – Martil
The city of Martil witnessed today, Friday, a qualitative operation that resulted in the seizure of five tons of prohibited plastic material inside four commercial stores.
This intervention came within the framework of a joint monitoring campaign, led by the services of the prefecture of M'diq-Fnideq, in coordination with the customs services, national security, and the local authority, in implementation of the provisions of Law No. 77.15 regarding the prohibition of manufacturing, importing, exporting, marketing, and using plastic bags, issued on April 4, 2016. During the operation, the mentioned quantities of violating plastic materials were seized, and legal records were prepared against the store owners, before referring the files to the competent authorities in order to take the necessary legal measures and arrange the appropriate penalties. This operation falls within the ongoing efforts of the local authorities and the concerned administrations in order to protect the environment, and to confront all forms of trafficking or use of prohibited plastic materials that cause damage to the environmental and health system.
