In an atmosphere filled with pride and reverence, the community space in Lalla Takerkoust organized a distinguished artistic evening to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the glorious Green March, commemorating this immortal national epic that has marked the history of modern Morocco, and reinforcing the values of national unity and cohesion between the Throne and the people.
The organization of this national celebration came as a response to the Moroccan people's joy at the recent UN resolution, which reaffirmed the validity of the Moroccan position and its complete sovereignty over its southern territories, and support for the autonomy initiative as the only realistic solution to the artificial regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara. The evening's activities began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the playing of the Moroccan national anthem in a moving atmosphere, and then the repetition of the Green March oath, which embodied the spirit of national belonging. A representative of civil society gave a welcoming speech in which he congratulated King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people on this glorious anniversary and on the historic UN resolution supporting the territorial unity of the Kingdom. The ceremony included high-class artistic performances in which the local folklore groups excelled with various artistic shows, which gave the evening a special national and celebratory character, to be crowned with a fireworks display that delighted the audience. The ceremony also honored a group of figures who participated in the Green March, in recognition of their sacrifices and their national role in the success of this historical epic. Praise was also given to the great role played by the residents of Lalla Takerkoust in the mobilization and active participation in this glorious march. The celebration was attended by a significant number of local figures, representatives of the authorities, and civil society organizations, in addition to a large audience from the region's population, who interacted with great enthusiasm with the ceremony's events and its national atmosphere filled with pride and belonging. At the end of the evening, the organizers, on behalf of the Afourar Cultural Center, expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the local authorities and all those involved who contributed to the success of this distinctive national initiative. This artistic celebration was an opportunity to renew the covenant with the immortal national values embodied by the glorious Green March, and reflects the adherence of all Moroccans to the unity of the homeland and its firm constants.
