The Belgian authorities have announced the opening of registration for voluntary military service for young people over 17 years old, in a move aimed at strengthening the ranks of the national army and encouraging the new generation to engage in military work.
According to what the Belgian Ministry of Defense revealed, the volunteers who will be accepted will benefit from a monthly grant estimated at about 2000 euros during their training and service, in addition to a set of social and professional benefits that include health insurance and opportunities for continuous training. The Belgian government believes that this initiative comes within the framework of renewing military competencies and ensuring the army's readiness to face the current security challenges inside and outside the country, especially in light of the tense international situation. The ministry also confirmed that registration is open to all Belgian youth and those legally residing in the country, who meet the required physical and moral conditions, noting that the goal of the program is to combine the spirit of citizenship and military discipline. The first batch of volunteers is expected to start in the coming months after passing the medical, psychological and training tests.
