The Governor of Jerada Province, Abdelslam El Hattach, chaired a broad consultative meeting today, Thursday, at the prefecture headquarters. The meeting was dedicated to launching the process of preparing a new generation of integrated territorial development programs at the provincial level. This initiative is part of the field implementation of the high royal directives aimed at establishing a renewed development model based on convergence, effectiveness, and sustainability.
In his opening speech, El Hattach emphasized that this meeting represents an important step in the process of formulating an integrated development vision that aligns with the high royal directives. These directives aim to elevate territorial areas, address social and spatial disparities, and achieve sustainable development that places the citizen at the heart of its concerns. The Governor of the province explained that the preparation of this new generation of programs will rely on a precise diagnosis of shortcomings and the investment of economic, natural, and human potentials available in the province. This approach aims to formulate realistic and implementable projects that have a direct impact on improving the living conditions of the population, especially in the areas of education, health, employment, social protection, and water resource management. He added that the approach adopted in this development workshop will be based on openness to all local actors, including elected institutions, external services, economic and social actors, as well as civil society, in order to involve them in determining development priorities according to a participatory methodology based on proximity and listening. El Hattach stressed that the next stage requires collective mobilization and shared responsibility to establish the foundations of balanced and equitable development, based on productive investment, stimulating local initiatives, and enhancing spatial and social justice, ensuring a qualitative leap in the development path of the province. The meeting included a detailed presentation on the general context for preparing the integrated territorial development program, its goals and stages, as well as the governance system that frames it. This system includes the provincial leadership committee, chaired by the governor of the province, and includes the heads of territorial communities and officials of decentralized services, in order to ensure continuous monitoring of the diagnosis, preparation, and implementation stages. Representatives of external services and public institutions, elected officials, economic and associative actors participated in the meeting. They presented interventions that highlighted the development challenges facing the province in various vital areas and proposed solutions to overcome them through realistic and integrated projects. This consultative meeting comes in the context of a comprehensive national dynamic that includes various provinces of the Kingdom. It aims to develop modern territorial development programs based on effectiveness and convergence and to enshrine the values of spatial justice, in accordance with the renewed vision of the development model of the Kingdom of Morocco.
