The German media outlet "Sport1" confirmed that Morocco is increasingly establishing its position as a "rising power in world football" and "one of the most passionate countries about football in the coming years".
In an article published on its website, which discussed the boom that Moroccan football is experiencing, "Sport1" pointed out that the Kingdom, which is participating in the organization of the 2030 World Cup, "is now targeting the global arena" after a series of major achievements, referring in this context to the fourth place in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and the first world title in its history for the under-20 category in 2025.
The German media outlet, a group that includes television channels and several digital platforms, considered that the crowning of the Moroccan national team under 20 years old represents "more than just a sporting victory", as it is "a symbol of a profound change in Moroccan football".
In this context, it explained that the award for the best African player of the year, which was given to Achraf Hakimi, embodies "this rapid progress" of Moroccan football, which is also the result of "the decisive role of the Mohammed VI Academy".
"Sport 1" quoted in its article former German international player of Moroccan origin, Mohamed Amsif, as saying that the rise of Moroccan football is "the result of a long-term vision", in a country that is witnessing a "deep" and "structured" football transformation, thanks to significant investments in infrastructure, talent scouting, training, and modern training methods.
Amsif added that "young Moroccan talents are now developing in Morocco in a professional environment that prepares them for elite football", noting that football constitutes "part of the national identity" in Morocco, the country that makes this sport a "bridge between cultures".
