HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
The city of Al Hoceima has witnessed a noticeable increase in the phenomenon of stray dogs in recent weeks, which have begun to spread in groups across a number of the city's neighborhoods, causing a state of anxiety and dissatisfaction among the residents.
Citizens' testimonies indicate that these dogs, which sometimes move in groups of five or six, have begun to use the entrances of homes as gathering points, hindering the entry and exit of residents and exposing them to unsafe situations. Despite the fact that this phenomenon is not concentrated in one particular neighborhood, but extends to different areas within the city, its danger is increasing in quiet alleys and streets, where children, women, and the elderly find it difficult to move around without feeling threatened. A number of those affected confirm that some of these dogs exhibit aggressive behavior from time to time, which raises the level of concern about the safety of passersby and the continuation of daily life in a normal manner. In light of the absence of concrete interventions to curb this phenomenon, residents are calling on the local and regional authorities to take urgent and effective measures to ensure health and population security, and to address this situation which is worsening day by day.
