Olympique Safi made a strong start in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup after achieving a valuable away victory against Djoliba of Mali with a score of one goal to nil in the match that brought them together on Sunday evening.
The victory came as a result of a cohesive collective performance and the Moroccan team's ability to manage the phases of the match intelligently, despite the pressure from the local crowd and the difficulty of playing on the opponent's field. The Olympique Safi players showed remarkable tactical discipline from the first minutes, as they succeeded in absorbing the enthusiasm of the Malian team before moving on to build counterattacks that posed a clear threat to Djoliba's goal. The Safi team was able to exploit one of those attempts to score the winning goal, which gave the players greater confidence and confused the calculations of the hosts, who found it difficult to penetrate the cohesive Moroccan defense. Despite Djoliba's attempts to come back in the result during the second half, Olympique Safi's solidity and control of the match rhythm remained a decisive factor in maintaining the advantage until the final whistle. With this victory, the Moroccan club puts the first bricks of its African path in an encouraging way, and returns home with three valuable points that enhance its chances of competing for one of the qualifying cards from its group.
