HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
In a qualitative operation, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie belonging to the Asakaen brigade managed last night to thwart an attempt to promote a significant amount of hard drugs, after seizing more than 130 grams of cocaine, in addition to considerable quantities of alcoholic beverages intended for sale.
Local sources reported that field investigations also resulted in the seizure of two cars bearing forged metal plates, suspected of being used in illegal activities related to drug trafficking. The two vehicles were subjected to technical inspection before being placed at the disposal of the judicial investigation. The gendarmerie elements seized all the seized items and prepared the necessary legal records, while the judicial police launched extensive investigations under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with the aim of identifying all parties involved in this criminal network. This operation falls within the framework of the continuous efforts exerted by the Royal Gendarmerie in the region to combat crime in its various forms, and to dry up the sources of trafficking in drugs, alcoholic beverages, and prohibited substances.
